It’s been nearly 7 years since the Xbox 360 was released and rumours are heating up as to the next generation of consoles. The Wii U is currently scheduled for a Christmas release this year, causing some to speculate Sony and Microsoft won’t be far behind.

Interestingly, it seems that Sony is pursuing the loss-leading model (at a predicted $1000 per console) once again, aiming to recover the development costs in license fees on the titles released.
More interestingly, it’s been suggested that ‘always online’ will be introduced; is a more aggressive version of PC’s Steam the best way for them to kill the used games market?
