Baconomy: the Art of Bacon Barter [Infographic]
Oscar Mayer has decided to run a campaign that involves sending comedian and actor Josh Sankey out on a cross country road trip with no money, but 3,000 pounds of bacon. With this 3,000 pounds of bacon, Josh is using it as his currency to barter for any of his needs. The trip began on September 10 and lasts through the month.
So, what types of things is Josh bartering for? Anything he needs, wants, or whatever people are willing to do for some of this butcher cut bacon, that’s what. At the beginning of the bacon journey, Josh bartered 10 bricks of bacon (a brick is one package of bacon) for a psychic reading in New York City. And if you’re wondering, she said he was going to live to see 87 years old. Then, two days later, he traded 2 bricks of bacon for some ice cold beer in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
