An Average Day in the Life of a Nurse [Infographic]
There are 11,110 babies born every day in the United States, which with out a nurse would be a very difficult task. So, what kind of schooling does it take to become a nurse? Out of the 3 million licensed RN’s in the US today, 13.2% have a masters or doctorate degree, 36.8% have a bachelors, 36.1% with an associates degree and 13.9% hold a diploma in nursing. Every 10% increase of BSN nurses is a 4% decrease in risk of death. By 2020, the goal of the Institute of Medicine is to increase nurses with Bachelor’s degrees or higher to 80% and to double the population of nurses with doctoral degrees.
Employed registered nurses are projected to grow 26% to 3.45 million by 2020 and nursing is the top occupation in terms of job growth. So, if you have ever thought about becoming a superhero and changing the world? Become a nurse and be the next big hero.
