Business, Infographics Comments

Business is a highly sought after degree—22 percent of the 1,650,000 bachelor’s degrees awarded between 2009-2010 were a business degree, over two times the second most popular degree (social sciences and history). Is it worth it, however, to ultimately attend and graduate from business school? Business school certainly is an excellent opportunity to build future business connections. Successful businesses even state that 47 percent of their business comes from effective networking activities.

How about hiring rates for business grads? Even at the height of the recent economic downturn, 92.6 percent of recent business students, 94.6 percent of experienced business students, and 95.6 percent of business graduate students were employed in 2009-2010. It’s also worth noting that three of the five most hirable majors—business, accounting, and economics—are within the business field. Those with a Masters in Business Administration make a median annual salary of $90,000.
