Getting to Know the Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy has been in the market for a while now but the recent update to Android 4.0.3 jelly bean has boosted the speed and has offered a lot more over its prequels. Most of the changes have been brought to the user interface. Few other areas have been updated with TouchWiz. The Samsung Galaxy S3 price in India is palatable as some of the web portals are selling it at the cost of Rs 27000 to Rs 29000.
The Samsung launched the phone with a theme inspired by nature as it sees, listens and shares. Handling the phone definitely gives the nature feel; but it is quite exaggerated. The phone is available in various attractive colors. The size typically is 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm with 4.8 inch HD screen. It weighs 133g. The phone is well packaged with Gorilla Glass 2 front and robust body. The galaxy S3 has similarity with original galaxy S. The S3 has curved edges with home button being elongated. The soft back key and menu buttons are a great addition to the eyes. The volume key parallel to lock key is within reach when holding the galaxy S3.
The microUSB slot is placed at the bottom of the phone. The phone comes with 64 GB internal memory with expandable memory of 64 GB with microSD card. Overall the Samsung Galaxy S3 gives a good feel while screen size may be a little lit big for some; but, it is manageable.
The android handset comes with large HD display for quality picture taken with an 8 megapixel camera. The front facing camera is reasonably of good quality resolution. All this is powered with a quad core processor for seamless speed and efficiency.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is a classy looking phone that bears a brand that has been associated with reliability and quality. It is a slim, lightweight handset with glossy finish. Though costly, it comes with good call quality, smooth-playing HD video and voice assistant resembling the Siri on the iPhone. It can undertake orders like calling up somebody from the contact list or giving weather updates.
The Galaxy S3 has impressed working professionals along with geeks who care to fidget with home screen and customize options. Taking and sharing of photos is a delight with Galaxy S3 as it can be connected through various modes. Gaming, on the other hand, is thrilling on wide screen with wide range of games and apps available.
The latest version of Android, 4.0.3, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) lets you put these buttons as virtual icons onscreen, like on the Galaxy Nexus. The phone has capability to take a screen shot by wiping your hand across the screen. Another is Smart Stay, which uses front camera to recognize a pair of eyes looking at it. If it does not, it turns the screen off to save power. Smart Call dials the contact from contact details by raising it to your ear. These are marketing blitz but definitely they are quite cool ones. Another gimmick among these is Social Tag. It uses facial recognition to match faces in photographs with the profile photos in your contacts.
S Beam adds WiFi Direct to the wireless transfer connection so you can transmit video files quickly between S3s. You can also throw content from phone to suitably equipped TV. Smart Alerts is a feature that allows you to recall missed calls and messages. The final verdict is that the phone has an edge over other competitors and will rule in the market till someone comes with newer technology.
